No Pain = No Problem? Not Always.

Time to get in touch with the feelings of venous insufficiency, everyone!
You know when a cold is coming on because you can feel it – that first tickle in the throat; that first ache in the bones. Vein disease sends out signs it’s coming on too – it’s just that most of us don’t recognize the following feelings as symptoms.
Feelings such as:

  • Occasional throbbing or swelling
  • Heaviness, tiredness, achiness
  • Itchy areas
  • Shin Pain
  • Restlessness
  • Night Cramps

These feelings are often overlooked, however they are commonly the “gateway” signs of venous insufficiency — a progressive medical condition that happens when vein walls stretch and enlarge, causing the valves that control the flow of blood pumping upwards from the leg to the heart to not open and close properly. Over time, blood begins to pool and the symptoms become more noticeable – for instance, veins may “pop out” and become discolored. So if you said, “Hey, I’ve felt that” to one or more of the “feelings” of vein disease, a consultation and ultrasound screening with an ultrasound specialist at the Hamilton Vein Center will determine if vein disease is present or not. If it is, today’s gentle, minimally invasive vein treatments stem the disease at its source, giving you immediate relief from symptoms with no downtime and long-lasting results.
If you have a feeling you are experiencing any of the above feelings, schedule your vein consultation and screening by calling 281-819-3799 or online here.
