Vascular ultrasound is an imaging test that detects blockages in your arteries and shows other vein problems in your legs and arms.
What Happens?
A vascular technician will use an ultrasound device during the test which emits high-frequency sound waves throughout your body’s tissues. Echoes from the ultrasound are transformed into videos or images. Your MD or PA will then use these images to diagnose the problem and make recommendations for a treatment plan. Vascular ultrasounds are noninvasive and do not require needles, dyes, radiation, or anesthesia.
